Description
The Prodigy emerged out of the Essex rave scene in 1991 with their first single – a 'novelty hit', Charly – which sounded unlike anything that had heretofore graced the UK charts. Pioneers of breakbeat and big beat, the four members of the band (Liam, Maxim, sadly departed Keith, and Leeroy) described their sound as 'electronic punk'. The three albums Experience, Music for the Jilted Generation and The Fat of the Land were the ubiquitous soundtrack to the 90s and the band have sold over 25 million albums worldwide.
There has never been a book by or from a member of The Prodigy. Wildfire will be a collection of personal photographs and archive material alongside revealing and often hilarious stories from Leeroy Thornhill, one of the original members of The Prodigy. It tells the story of the band, especially their humble origins in Essex and on the rave scene, from the perspective of someone intimately involved with a group that arguably had as much influence on contemporary pop culture as The Sex Pistols two decades earlier.Leeroy Thornhill is an English DJ and music producer most famous for his time as a member of the popular electronic music act The Prodigy from 1990 – 2000.
