“I thought this book was amazing because it has cool features and facts about the world and history…and is fun.”
—Alexander, age 8
“This Day in History for Kids is a great book for amazing facts that you can learn each day. Each page has one or two calendar days featured, so I can read a small part every day and learn a little bit about a lot of new and interesting things…. The dates are fun because you can look for what happened on your birthday, and I think it’s really fascinating to learn the dates for things like the Trojan Horse. Everyone knows it happened, but I never knew when. Also, every page has extremely funny jokes in the facts. I really recommend this book!”
—Archer, age 10
“This Day In History For Kids was such a terrific book! What I love about it is that whenever I feel like it, I can just look at today’s history. To me, it’s really fascinating to feel that for us, it’s just like a normal day, but for example on June 23, 1281 they had ships sail away in Korea to invade Japan. Sometimes I like to go to today and see exactly what happened on that day. Or sometimes even just go through the entire book in the morning! What’s really cool to think about is that every single day at least something historic happened. And usually it is way more than just 1 historic gesture.”
—Carmel, age 10
“[This book] has many interesting facts about national days. I really like how there are pages where you can fill in your memories. This book provides facts from when Yellowstone became America’s first national park, to when National Pancake Day is! I would highly recommend this book.”
—Charlotte, age 10
“This is a really good book for kids who like dinosaurs, history, pirates, and anything else you can imagine. This book has it all. Personally, something I liked is that it showed the Zodiac and I never really had that at my display and it’s fun to say ‘I’m a snake! And my mom’s a snake too!’ It’s pretty cool how the book breaks facts down per day…. The first thing I did was I looked up my birthday and then my mom’s and my dad’s and my stepdad’s!”
—Eli, age 10
“Most history books are hard for me to keep reading. But the pictures and the jokes made me want to find new facts to learn.”
—Moses, 10
“This book is packed with awesome facts for every day of the year. I can flip to any page and learn a cool fact of the day. I definitely recommend it!”
—Mykolas, age 10
“Very cool and interesting…would recommend to a friend.”
—Wyatt, age 10
“I love reading non-fiction books, but I especially loved this one because it broke down interesting facts based on each date. I liked being able to see what happened on my birthday and if it says anything about who I am as a person. I also like that I am able to pick this book up at any time and read any page I want. I don’t always have to go in order.”
—Rowan, age 11
“[This book] shows a ton of interesting things that happened on specific days. Kids who like history would enjoy the book.”
