We have all said, “With Liberty and Justice to All.’  It’s in the pledge of allegiance.  We are critical of countries where the results of a trial are known before it even starts.  America is better than that.

          However, no trial even takes place when Federal District Judge Howard G. Munson ruled Frank Langdon confessed to burning a barn. It was the very barn that housed his own cattle.  Frank never uttered one word of what the police wrote. But, without a trial he could never deny the confession.  This was in civil court and the judge’s ruling prevented a trial by jury. It was all part of a cover-up. Arthur Coleman Jr. would never testify about what he saw and what the Sheriff’s investigator found would never become public.

          In this book you will learn about the pleasant village of Copake where people enjoyed life and a family was tied to the land by a long tradition. You learn how relationships were tested when an arsonist struck again and again. As the father struggles to clear the son, little by little the curtain is pulled back reviling who, how, and why the serial arsonist is striking. 

          Trial by jury is the foundation of justice.  Scandal will show you how Article VII of the Bill of Rights that guarantees trial by jury was bypassed and a judge ruled unchecked. Because of the separation of powers, only a judge can hold another judge accountable. That failed because of what Justice Breyer calls “Guild Favoritism.” In my book I call it Club Justice.
