How do you raise Christian kids who have dreams that seem beyond their reach?
Parenting is an important task, but the pressure doesn't need to be on us. As parents, we simply need to follow the leading of the Lord with the understanding that our children's natural abilities are actually the Lord working out their destiny. When we give Christ unlimited control of our parenting, we learn that Jesus is a better parent to our children than we can ever hope to be.
As Sheila Erwin shares personal stories of raising two successful filmmakers and delves into biblical principles, you will be encouraged to cultivate your children’s gifts and help them reach their dreams—no matter how impossible they seem.
By parenting from a position of trust and rest in God, you can guide your children to chase their God-given dreams and channel their talents to glorify God instead of being gripped by the world.
Shelia Erwin double majored in art and education, learned business by managing one of her parent's successful beauty salon at 19, and then became a Christian school principal at 25 years of age.
But she discovered her true passion is pointing other women—especially other moms—to Jesus. While still in college, she began teaching women's Bible studies and she has continued to invest in the lives of other women for the past 46 years. She has been blessed to mentor many women one-on-one, has served as a women's ministry director at her local church, and speaks at retreats and leads group Bible studies locally and across the country.
She and her husband Hank (a former state senator) formed SAV America Ministries through which they developed and taught The Christ-Centered Home Seminar Curriculum for many years. As a couple, they sought to establish a Christ-centered home where their sons, Jon and Andy, could find the destiny that God had assigned to them. Through their homeschooling journey, their sons did just that, founding Erwin Brothers
Entertainment and becoming award-winning filmmakers of four major motion pictures: October Baby, Moms' Night Out, Woodlawn, and I Can Only Imagine.
She now manages her own successful travel company with 30 independent contractor agents working under her. Her greatest joy has been being a wife, mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother.
