Artist Karla Klarin started painting her hometown—Los Angeles—in 1980, after achieving her BFA from San Francisco Art Institute and her MFA from Otis Art Institute. In 1982, she was the only woman to be awarded the Young Talent Award from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Her work is included in important public and private collections around the world and has been reviewed in ARTnews, Artscene, Artweek, and the Los Angeles Times.
