Description
For when you feel that knot in your chest. When you know it’s not going away anytime soon. Sometimes we can’t convey how we feel to the people who need to hear it; to see it. I provide these poems not as a comfort but as a place of solace for feelings we can’t always give proper homes. An anthology of poems written during defiant and desperate times. Where you don’t always know where one starts and one ends. When there’s no one there to answer the phone. Just because someone isn’t worth giving those final words… Doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be said. For when you feel that knot in your chest. When you know it’s not going away anytime soon. Just because someone isn’t worth giving those final words… Doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be said. Melina Seabrook is a researcher by nature with an enduring interest in humanity through the ages. Poetry became a secret emotional outlet for her during high school and grew into a way of processing the world. She seeks to deliver poems that illustrate the experiences that surpass us as individuals. An archaeologist working towards a PhD in Anthropology, she strives to incorporate the past into the present in creative and unexpected ways. In another life, she would have followed her love of the unknown up into space. She hopes her work can connect people and emotions across time just as the stories that inspired her.
