In 2020, the world endured an unexpected onslaught by the COVID-19 virus. The shock of the pandemic has been extremely unconventional in terms of its size and uncertainty. The pandemic has been unique in its wide-ranging effects on almost every section of the economy and the society. The virus has posed an unprecedented challenge for policy-making—globally and nationally. It has tested the mettle of policy-makers to deal with uncertain, fluid, complex, and dynamic situations, having far-reaching socio-economic implications. This volume contains 11 research papers authored by scholars in the field of digital finance and literacy. Their contributions provide deep insights on various aspects of the subject. Dr. Abdul Azeez N.P. is currently Assistant Professor, Department of Economics at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh. Prior to joining AMU, he taught at the Department of Economics, Central University of Kashmir, Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. He also served as Assistant Professor (Economics) in the Department of Law at AMU, Malappuram Centre, Kerala. A gold medallist of AMU in M.A. Economics (2010) examination, he obtained his Ph.D. degree also from the same University. He also qualified for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) examination conducted by University Grants Commission (UGC) in 2011. Dr. S.M. Jawed Akhtar is currently Professor, Department of Economics, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh. Presently, he is working as Finance Officer of AMU, Aligarh. He has been actively engaged in teaching and research for more than two decades. He was awarded gold medals for securing first position in B.A. (Hons.) and M.A. (Economics) examinations of the same University. He is also working as Co-Project Director on ‘Digital and Financial Literacy for Rural India.’ This book provides deep insights as to how digital technology has become the greatest agent of change and promises to play a key role in Indian economy in future.
