Overnight he became a star as a caricaturist, illustrator and children’s book author and published more than 80 books in ten years. “Demonstrates the charm of simplicity… A quirky story of the spirit of Christmas.”—The Sunday Times
“Provides sentiment with a gently sardonic edge… Ungerer’s eye for detail and gentle wit is as fresh as it was 50 years ago.”—Sunday Telegraph

“Delightful and artistically nourishing.”—New York Times
