What is the story of Cole, the boorish man who forgets himself by drinking? What is Freeman doing in this remote corner of Alaska? The result is a quest not only for this child who may very well have already frozen to death in the extreme cold, but also for the truth that each of them is reluctant to accept and come to terms with. Marie Vingtras was born in Rennes, France, in 1972. Her debut novel, Blizzard, is the winner of the Prix des libraires, the French booksellers’ prize for best novel of the year, was a finalist for the Prix des Deux Magots 2022, a recipient of the Envoy par La Poste, Talents Cultura, and Premire Plume du Furet du Nord prizes. Vingtras has has sold more than 40,000 copies of Blizzard in France.
